Located in Neiweipi Cultural Park Area, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMFA) is surrounded by mountains and rivers and has carved its unique views, so it is also known as “Museum Wetland”.

“Dei”, means wetland in ancient Chinese. Inspired by the current ecosystem in the park and to prolong the architectural concept of KMFA, the renovation of KMFA adopted natural elements: water, earth, forest and resembled it on the outer surface of the building. We see the original sign of KMFA in 2 parts, the building on the ground and the sunken plaza. The reading of materials on the facade is represented vertically for the upper part and horizontality in the bottom part.

Dei Kwun links the past, present and the future of the eco-park and reproduces the hydrology scene in the past. The renovated KMFA will continue as the creative powerhouse of Kaohsiung and promote art to the public.
